At the Paris Zoological Park

At the Paris Zoological Park (12th arrondissement), which will celebrate the tenth anniversary of its reopening in 2024, visitors enter a world reminiscent of the landscapes in which the animals live. This helps them to better understand the animals' behavior and the conditions necessary for their well-being. Spread over 14 hectares, discover more than 3,000 animals, divided into five biozones.
From six-banded armadillos to octocyon babies, giraffes, and West Indian manatees, visitors can travel and marvel at each enclosure. You can even watch feeding sessions. The sea lion feeding is a spectacle in itself!

At the Paris Aquarium

In the Trocadéro gardens, the Paris Aquarium (16th arrondissement) offers a unique journey into the depths of the oceans. Thirteen thousand fish and invertebrates swim alongside 38 large sharks, 2,500 jellyfish, and 700 coral colonies. To learn more about the mysteries of the sea, the Aquarium also offers educational and fun activities throughout the year with the help of characters familiar to children (Molang, Miraculous, Petit Ours Brun, Simon, etc.). Perfect for teaching children why it is important to preserve the oceans!

At the Paris Farm

Located in the Bois de Vincennes, the Ferme de Paris (12th arrondissement) is a 5-hectare farm managed with respect for the environment. It runs a network of three educational farms located in the heart of the capital, where you can pet and feed goats, rabbits, and chickens. Visit the educational farm in Kellermann Park (13th arrondissement), Suzanne-Lenglen Park (15th arrondissement), or René-Binet Garden (18th arrondissement).

At the Jardin des Plantes menagerie

It is one of the oldest zoos in the world! Created in 1794 to bring together animals from the royal menagerie at Versailles and animals confiscated from fairgrounds (the Paris Commune had banned animal shows in the streets). The menagerie is located in a park covering more than 5 hectares and is home to 240 mammals, 500 birds, and 130 reptiles. The enclosures and buildings where the animals are housed can be explored at your leisure along the paths, which can be accessed via two entrances from the paths of the Jardin des Plantes (5th arrondissement).
Every spring, the menagerie's baby boom begins. Snow leopards, long-tailed cats, Przewalski's horses, primates, birds, reptiles, and amphibians are born there. The latest arrivals are Rori and Mordo, two Tasmanian devils. Don't forget to go and welcome them!

How about taking a closer look at more than 7,000 lifelike specimens at the Grande Galerie de l'Évolution (5th arrondissement)? This legendary venue, renovated in 1994, combines modernity with history and science to tell the story of biodiversity. And since July 2023, the star of the gallery has been the mammoth!
At 6 meters long, with 4-meter tusks and weighing 10 tons, this fossil skeleton once again dominates the entire paleontology gallery. The only one of its species to have come to France, this southern mammoth is in fact a juvenile, despite what its imposing size might suggest…

At the Tropical Aquarium

With more than 500 animal species living in over 80 different environments, the Tropical Aquarium (12th arrondissement) is teeming with rare species. How are they fed? How do they reproduce? How do they breathe? Several workshops are available. Here, you can even learn how to make your own aquarium using recycled materials.
